Exposure Meters On/Off and Auto Meter-Off
This camera is equipped with exposure meters, which meter tile brightness of the subject. Exposure
meters are activated with tile following situations:
• When tile camera is turned on
• When the shutter-release button is pressed halfway while tile camera is on
• When (_ (_1!_)is pressed while the camera is on
When exposure meters are on, tile viewfinder display, or Shooting information display, will turn on,
and shooting information such as shutter speed, aperture, and number of exposures remaining carl
be confirmed ([] 7,9).
Exposuremeters turn off automatically in conjunction with the Auto meter-off setting ([] 114).
Auto meter-off is a function that reduces the drain on the battery. At default settings, exposure
meters turn off if the shutter-release button is not pressed,even halfway, and no operations are
performed for eight seconds. The length of time before exposure meters turn off carl be adjusted
using Custom Setting 15(Auto off timers; []
114).Exposure meters are also active whenever the
monitor is on with operations other than shooting, such as playback and when navigating camera
menus (Playback/menus), or with image review immediately after a photograph is shot (Image
review). However, exposure meters turn off when tile monitor turns off, asspecified with the auto
off timers setting.

Shooting Info Auto Off
The eye sensor under the viewfinder is activated when your face comes closerto tile viewfinder with
shooting while tile exposure meters are on, and turns tile Shooting information display off (default
setting) to reduce tile drain on tile battery. When the camera is lowered, or otherwise distanced
from your face,tile viewfinder display turns off and tile Shooting information display turns on again.
This option carl be disabled using tile Shooting info auto off option in tile setup menu ([] 123).
However, the Shooting information display will turn off when auto meter off isactivated, regardless
of tile option selected for Shooting info auto off.
