1 Press the shutter-release button halfway, i.e.,
press the button lightly until you feel a slight
resistance.
When the subject is in focus, the focus area glows
green (multiple focus areas can glow green).
When you are using digital zoom, the camera
focuses in the center of the frame and the focus
area is not displayed. When the camera has
focused, the focus indicator glows green.
If the focus area or focus indicator flashes, the
camera is unable to focus. Modify the composition
and try pressing the shutter-release button halfway
again.
Flash lamp
The flash lamp indicates flash status when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.
* If the battery level is low, the monitor turns off while the flash is charging.

Shooting and Playback
On
The flash fires when an image is taken.
Flashing
The flash is charging.*
Off
The flash does not fire when an image is taken.
