[] Beep
• When Focus mode ([] 57) is set to Continuous-servo AF, or if the subject is judged to be
moving in Auto-servo AF (default setting) and Continuous-servo AF is automatically applied, a
beep indicating that tile subjects is in focus will not sound.
• This option carl be disabled from Custom Setting 01 (Beep; [] 110).
[] The Built-in Flash
When shooting a dimly lit, or backlit, subject in A_,0 (auto) mode, tile builtqn flash will pop up
automatically when the shutter-release button is pressedhalfway. When using the flash, remove the
lens hood to prevent its shadow from appearing in photographs.
Iftile flash is required, picture carl only be taken while tile flash-ready _}1
indicator (_) is displayed. If the flash-ready indicator is not displayed,
the flash is charging and pictures cannot be taken even if the flash is up. Wait until _ is displayed.
In A_0(auto) mode with auto flash mode enabled, tile flash will not fire, even if it has popped up
automatically, if the subject isalready sufficiently lit. Pictures carl also be taken when _ is not
displayed.
Select _ Auto (flash off) mode ([] 36) to prevent tile flash from firing when lighting is poor.

Flashrange varieswith aperture and ISOsensitivity ([] 179).
When tile flash is not in use, return it to its closed position by pressing it
gently downward until it clicks into place.

carl be modified in A_0 (auto) mode, including the manners in which tile shutter is released
(Release mode; [] .54), the manner in which tile camera focuses ([] 57), ISO sensitivity ([] 53),
and Active D-Lighting ([] rig).
[] Image Review
Custom Setting 07 (Image review: [] 111) carl be set so that photographs are not automatically
displayed in tile monitor after they are taken.
