Movies
The indicator
showing
the number
of exposures
remaining
or the indicator
showing
the maximum
movie
length
flashes while
images are being
recorded
or while
a movie is being saved, Do notopen
the battery-chamber/memory
card slot cover or remove
the battery
or memory
card while
an
indicator
is flashing,
Doing
this could
result in loss of data, or in damage
to the camera
or the
memory

Autofocus
Autofocus
may not per_rm
as expected
in the _llowing
situations,
In some rare cases, the subject
may not be in focus despite
the fact that the active focus area or the focus indicator
lights
in green:
• Subject
is very dark
• Objects
of sharply
differing
brightness
are included
in the scene (e,g, the sun is behind
the subject
makes that subject appear
very dark)
• No contrast
between
the subject and surroundings
(e.g, a portrait
subject, wearing
a white
shirt, is
standing
in front of a white
wall)
• Several objects
are at different
distances
from the camera
(e.g. the subject
is inside a cage)
• Subjects
with repeating
patterns
(window
blinds,
buildings
with multiple
rows of similarly
shaped
windows,
etc.)
• Subject
is moving
rapidly
In the situations
noted
above, try pressing
the shutter
release button
halfway
to refocus
several
times, or focus on another
subject
positioned
at the same distance
from the camera
as the actual
desired
subject,
and use focus lock (_76).
When
the
Subject
Is Close
to the
Camera
If the camera
car/not
focus, try shooting
with macro
mode or the Close-up
scene mode
1_45/.

If you are concerned
that you might
miss a shot, press the shutter
release button
all the way without
first pressing
it halfway.

Flash
• if the subject
is dimly
lit, the flash will pop up automatically

is set to _IAIJ1_ (auto; default
setting),
