    The Basics of Shooting and Playback Preparation 1 Insert the Battery Open the battery-chamber/ memory card slot cover. Insert the battery.     Preparation 2 Charge the Battery Prepare the included charging AC adapter. If a plug adapter* is included with your camera, attach the plug adapter to the plug on the charging AC adapter. Push the plug adapter firmly until it is securely held in place.

About 2 hours and 20 minutes are required to charge a fully exhausted battery. The ambient temperature is not suited to charging.     Preparation 4 Setting the Display Language, Date, and Time When the camera is turned on for the first time, the language-selection screen and the date and time setting screen for the camera clock are displayed.     Using the Flash You can select the flash mode to match the shooting conditions. Press the multi selector H (m). Select the desired flash mode Auto (A47) and press the k button. If a setting is not applied by pressing the k button within a few seconds, the selection will be canceled.
