Setup
– In a UNIX environment, enter the following string at the prompt:
tip /dev/ttyb -9600.
f. From the terminal emulator application, log on to the switch with
administrative privileges through the serial connection. The default
administrative logon is admin and the default password is
password.
Do not change the default password unless local administration
CAUTION
policy requires it.
g. Enter the following at the terminal emulator application prompt:
ipAddrSet.
h. Enter the requested information at the prompts:
– Ethernet IP Address [10.77.77.77]:
Enter the new Ethernet IP address.
– Ethernet Subnetmask [0.0.0.0]:
Enter the new Ethernet subnetmask.
– Fibre Channel IP Address [none]:
Enter the new Fibre Channel IP address if desired.
– Fibre Channel Subnetmask [none]:
Enter the new Fibre Channel subnet mask if desired.
– Gateway Address [172.17.1.1]:
Enter the new gateway address.
– Set IP address now? [y = set now, n = next
reboot]:
Enter "y" to set now.
i. Optional: Verify the address was correctly set by entering the
following: ipAddrShow.
j. Record the IP address on the label provided for this purpose on the
switch.
k. Once the IP address is verified as correct, remove the serial cable and
replace the shipping plug in the serial port.
