NOTE : It is recommended that high quality CAT 5E or CAT 6 cables (which work for
10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1000Mbps) be used whenever possible in order to provide
flexibility in a mixed-speed network, since CSG14 Series switch ports are auto-
sensing for either 10,100 or 1000Mbps. Note that the auto-cross function does
not operate, if the port is fixed or not supporting auto-negotiation.

Connecting Twisted Pair (RJ-45, CAT 3, CAT 5 or CAT 6, Unshielded or
Shielded)
The following procedure describes how to connect a 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX
or 1000BASE-T twisted pair segment to the RJ-45 port. The procedure is the same for both
unshielded and shielded twisted pair cables.
