    Overview The WebView Livescope MV software monitors video images shot using a Network Camera Server VB101/VB100 (referred to hereafter simply as a camera server) and distributed via an intranet or over the Internet. This product consists of 2 software applications. These are the WebView Livescope MV Manager, which can be used to create monitoring screens and collectively manage multiple camera servers, and the WebView Livescope MV Station, which you can use to monitor camera images from multiple locations.

    Installation Procedure Launching the Installer When you position the mouse cursor over a button, an explanation of the button appears in the box below. When you load the WebView Livescope MV Ver. 1.0 installer CD-ROM into your computer, the installer's main panel automatically appears.     Installing MV Manager When you press the "Install MV Manager" button in the main panel, the installer starts up and MV Manager installation begins. Click the "Next" button to proceed with the installation. If the machine on which you are performing the installation is running an old version of Microsoft VM for Java, MV Manager will not run.

    Installation Procedure Installing MV Station When you press the "Install MV Station" button in the main panel, the installer starts up and MV Station installation begins. Click the "Next" button to proceed with the installation. Enter the serial number and click the "Next" button. The serial number is printed on a sticker on the outside of the software package or is printed on the User Registration card.

Additional camera servers can then be registered by following the instructions provided in interactive wizard-type screens.     Step 3: Enter the Camera Server Name and Comments You can assign any name to a camera server. Enter the camera server name in the "Camera server name" field. You cannot omit this by leaving the field blank. Also, you cannot assign the same name to more than one camera server.

    Adding Camera Servers Step 5: Test the Display The display test checks that the camera server is set up correctly. Check that the video image is displayed and that operations such as pan, tilt and zoom function correctly. The camera server is added.     Chapter 3 Creating Monitoring Screens In WebView Livescope MV Manager, you can create monitoring screens tailored to your particular requirements.

    Create Monitoring Screen Wizard When you have completed camera server registration, the next step is to create the monitoring screens. Various types of monitoring screen can also be created by following the instructions provided in interactive wizard-type screens. The created monitoring screens (HTML) are stored in the work folder and used by MV Station for monitoring.

    Step 3: Select the Camera Server In this step, you select the camera server to be displayed in the monitoring screen. The number of camera servers selected varies depending on the format type. (➡ P.30-32) The left-hand box shows a list of the available camera servers (the camera servers registered in Chapter 2).

    Editing Maps If you selected "Select from a map" and "2, 4 or 6 views with a map" as the monitoring screen style, you can use the Map Editor to edit the maps. The Map Editor allows you to change the background image, reposition the camera server (camera) icons, change the camera orientation in floor maps, and change the icon designs.

    Changing the Background Image You can import user-created image files as background images. When you select "Load Background Bitmap" from the "Tool" menu, an image file selection dialog box appears.     Changing the Appearance of Icons When you click on a camera icon to select it, the icon is marked in yellow. Selecting "Change icon" in the "Tool" menu opens the icon modification dialog box. Select the item you want to change and click "OK" to modify the camera server icon shown on the map.

    Launching MV Station Registered monitoring screens are displayed in MV Station. To launch MV Station, select "MV Station" from "Programs" in the "Start" button menu.     Using the Monitoring Screens From a registered monitoring screen, you click one of the displayed images to select and monitor the image.     Large-screen Display This monitoring screen displays a full-screen viewer with an Auto Switch function that can be used to switch automatically between cameras. (➡ P.28) "Auto Switch" Use the Auto Switch to start and stop automatic switching. The frame rate differs depending on the network environment (LAN, ISDN, etc.) and settings such as the camera server image size and the image quality.

    Using the Viewer Switching and Controlling Cameras "Camera selector bar" Selects the camera. "Tilt scroll bar" Controls the camera tilt. You can use this bar to change the angle of the camera in the up and down directions. "Zoom scroll bar" Controls the camera's zoom setting. Moving the button up zooms in (telephoto), while moving the button down zooms out (wide-angle).

    Chapter 6 Managing Camera Servers This chapter describes how to use MV Manager to perform other camera server management tasks, such as setting up camera servers and updating firmware.

    Setting Up and Managing Camera Servers MV Manager allows you to centrally manage all the registered camera servers. You can remotely perform management tasks such as changing camera server settings, checking camera server operation statuses and batch updating firmware. When you double-click the icon for a registered camera server in MV Manager, the browser starts up and accesses the camera server.

    Chapter 7 Advanced Operations This chapter describes how to use advanced camera server features such as viewing recorded pictures and automatic operation.

    Setting Up Automatic Camera Operation Automatic camera operation refers to specific camera control operations (panning, tilting, zooming, and switching backlight compensation on and off) that are performed repeatedly at specified intervals for each camera. For example, you can specify an automatic operation that photographs the cash register, the entrance and the product display cases every 10 seconds.

    G Schedules are set for a specific camera, not for each camera server. G You can store up to 8 schedules. Caution G Once you specify the camera position or backlight compensation setting, the setting cannot be changed. To change either setting, remove the original schedule and add a new schedule.

    Recording and Displaying Pictures The camera servers provide a function for recording pictures (still images) according to a preset schedule or in response to on/off signals from a connected I/O unit. The recorded pictures can be searched and the search results viewed from MV Station by accessing the Picture Recording page on the camera server.

    Displaying Recorded Pictures Start up MV Station. Where a camera server has recorded pictures, a "Picture recording page button" is displayed to the right of the server name in the list. When you click this button, MV Station accesses the Picture Re- cording page and displays the page in the viewer display area.

    Troubleshooting I I can't install the software. For both MV Manager and MV Station Responses G Internet Explorer 5 or 5.01 is required. Also, when installing Internet Explorer, use the "Full" or "Standard" installation. If you select the "Minimum configuration" installation option, required mod- ules are not installed and the software will not run correctly.
