Copying/Scanning Problems

Problem
The printer or scanner makes
unusual noises during operation.
Horizontal streaks are printed.
A completely black copy is
output.

Meaning of LEDs on Front Panel

The power-on button, which is used to switch the printer ON and OFF, may also flash to indicate printer
status:
If it flashes during printing, this indicates that the computer is sending or receiving data.
If it flashes and a flashing "E" appears on the LCD display, this indicates an error condition.
Possible reasons for errors are listed below and may be displayed in detail using the "Status Monitor"
application available on the Status bar, or in the list of programs in the Olivetti folder.
Problem
A flashing "E" is shown on the
LCD display which indicates the
number of copies.
On/off button flashes.
Possible Cause
The ink cartridges are no
longer aligned.
Possible Cause
The ink cartridges are dirty.
Faulty Contact Image Sensor.
Possible Cause
A print or copy operation has
been started but the paper in
the printer has run out.
The format of the paper
loaded does not match the
format selected by the
Toolbox application or by the
PictBridge compatible digital
camera connected to the
printer.
The format of the paper
loaded is not A4 which is
required to print the ink
cartridge alignment sheet
after cartridge replacement.
Paper jam.
The printer is receiving data
from the digital camera
connected.
Corrective Action
Align the ink cartridges from
your computer. See
"Aligning the Ink Cartridges
From the Toolbox".
Corrective Action
Turn off the printer and then
turn it back on again by
pressing the On/Off button.
Clean the ink cartridges. See
"Cleaning the Ink Cartridge
Nozzles".
Contact the field engineering
service.
Corrective Action
Load paper. See "Loading
Paper".
Load the correct format.
See "Loading Paper".
Load the correct format of
paper. See "Loading Paper".
•Remove the jammed paper. See
"Clearing Paper Jams".
Indicates correct data
transfer.
No corrective action is
therefore required.
