Selection of the reverse mode
REV.MODE
Each press switches the modes as follows.
1 "[" ... Both sides are played back (recorded), and
then the tape stops.
2 """ .. Both sides are played back endlessly.
(The tape stops after recording onto both
sides.)
3 """ ... Only one side is played back (recorded), and
then the tape stops.
Selection of DOLBY NR
The Dolby NR system minimizes the hiss noise heard when play-
ing tape. When playing a tape prerecorded with Dolby NR ON,
be sure to set the DOLBY NR ON for playback.
DOLBY NR
Each press switches the modes as follows.
1 "DOLBY NR" ON ............ DOLBY NR is used.
2 "DOLBY NR" OFF .......... DOLBY NR is not used.

4. Select the source to be recorded.

is pressed.

5. Start recording.
1 Play (or tune) the input source to be
recorded.
2 Start recording.
÷ Recording stops automatically when the tape
side (s) to be recorded have been fully recorded.
To pause recording
÷ Pressing the key pauses recording after leaving a non-recorded
space of about 4 seconds.
÷ If the key is pressed again in less than 4 seconds after it has been
pressed, recording resumes from that instant.
Points in CD recording
Where recording CD tracks onto a tape, if you leave the cassette
deck in record-pause mode beforehand, the cassette deck re-
cording can be started at the CD starts to be played. (Synchro
recording function)
1 Put the CD player in pause mode.
2 Select the track to be recorded with the skip
(w2, 3∑) keys.
(The CD player pauses at the beginning of the
selected track.)
3 Put the cassette deck in Record-pause mode.
4 Start playing the CD.
(Synchro recording starts)
÷ Recording stops when the stop (7) key of the playback unit is
pressed.
÷ Synchronized recording from MD also is possible with the same
procedure.
The input source component to be recorded
should be displayed
÷ When the CD input is selected and if a disc
has been set in the CD player, its playback
starts immediately.
