To wind tape at high speed

÷ Press the 7 key to stop fast winding.

REV.MODE
Each press switches the modes as follows.
1 "[" ... Both sides are played back (recorded), and
then the tape stops.
2 """ .. Both sides are played back endlessly.
(The tape stops after recording onto both
sides.)
3 """ ... Only one side is played back (recorded), and
then the tape stops.

÷ Normal (TYPE ø), high (TYPE ¿), or metal (TYPE ¬) tape selection is
set automatically.
÷ Remove tape slack before loading.
÷ Close the door securely.
Displayed when the deck is loaded with a tape.

Reverse mode indication

÷ Do not take out the cassette tape until the tape transport has
stopped completely.
Selection of DOLBY NR
The Dolby NR system minimizes the hiss noise heard when playing
tape. When playing a tape Prerecorded with Dolby NR ON, be sure
to set the DOLBY NR ON for playback.
DOLBY NR
Each press switches the modes as follows.
1 "DOLBY NR" ON ............ DOLBY NR is used.
2 "DOLBY NR" OFF .......... DOLBY NR is not used.
÷ Select the DOLBY NR mode according to the recording condition of
the tape.
Transport direction indicators
The @ and #indicators indicate the current direction in which
the tape advances when playback or recording is started auto-
matically by the easy operation function, etc. This direction is
the direction stored in memory when the tape was last stopped.
(To change the tape running direction, press the 2 3 key during
playback, and then press the (7) key.)
