Making connections

Connecting a camcorder or game console

Note: If your game console has an HDMI connection, you will get better
quality using the HDMI connection instead of the AV connection.
To connect a camcorder or game console:
• Connect one end of a standard AV cable into the AV2 IN jacks on
the side of the TV, then connect the other end of the cable to the
AV OUT jacks on the camcorder or game console.

Note: Cable connectors and jacks are often color-coded. Match the colors
when you connect the AV cable.
To playback the camcorder or play the game console:
1 Turn on the TV, then press INPUT. The INPUT SOURCE menu
opens.
2 Press or to select AV2, then press ENTER.
Note: You can also press VIDEO one or more times to select AV2.
3 Turn on the camcorder or game console, then follow the
instructions that came with the device to play from the
camcorder or game console.

Connecting an HDMI device

To connect an HDMI device:
• Connect one end of an HDMI cable (not included) to the HDMI 1
or HDMI 2 jack on the back of the TV, then connect the other end
of the cable to the HDMI OUT jack on the HDMI device.

Note: You can also connect an HDMI device to the HDMI 3 jack on the side
of the TV.
Note: To connect a DVI device, use a DVI to HDMI adapter cable to connect
to the HDMI jack on the TV, then connect an audio cable to the
VGA AUDIO jack on the back of the TV.
To play from the HDMI device:
1 Turn on the TV, then press INPUT. The INPUT SOURCE menu
opens.
2 Press or to select HDMI 1, HDMI 2, or HDMI 3, then press
ENTER.
Note: You can also press HDMI one or more times to select HDMI 1,
HDMI 2, or HDMI 3.
3 Turn on the HDMI device, then set it to the correct mode. Refer to
the instructions that came with the HDMI device.

Connecting a component video device

To connect a component video device:
1 Connect a component video cable (not included) to the
COMPONENT IN 1 or COMPONENT IN 2 jacks on the back of
the TV.

2 Connect one end of an audio cable (not included) to the
L and R AUDIO jacks next to the COMPONENT IN video jacks on
the back of the TV, then connect the other end of the cable to the
L and R AUDIO OUT jacks on the component video device.
To play from the component video device:
1 Turn on the TV, then press INPUT. The INPUT SOURCE menu
opens.
2 Press or to select Component1 or Component2, then
press ENTER.
Note: You can also press COMP one or more times to select Component1
or Component2.
3 Turn on the component video device, then set it to the correct
mode. Refer to the instructions that came with the component
video device.
