Previewing audio
A new feature aids you in creating quick previews of the composition.
Previewing audio in the work area
As you work, you may need to quickly preview audio in the work area of the Timeline
window without rendering frames or wireframes of the video. To activate the preview,
select the layer and press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) + . (period) on the keypad. To
halt the preview, press the spacebar.
Accessing and editing keyframe values
When working in a Timeline window with multiple keyframes, you may want to quickly
check the value of a single keyframe and then edit the value immediately, if necessary. To
access a keyframe value, right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) the keyframe you
want to check. The context menu shows the keyframe value at the top. If you want to
change this value, choose Edit Value.
Viewing only modified properties
When working on a composition containing a mix of animated, modified, and unmodified
properties, you can now choose to have only the modified properties display. This allows
for easier access to the properties for editing. To view only modified properties, select the
layers whose properties you want to view and press U twice in rapid succession, or choose
Animation > Reveal Modified Properties.
Scaling Mask Feather and x, y, and z values simultaneously
Sometimes, when adjusting a layer's Scale or Mask Feather value, you want to preserve the
proportions of the current value. An option in the Timeline window for each property now
easily facilitates this. This option, when active, performs the same function as the choices
in the Preserve menu in the Scale dialog box and the Lock box in the Mask Feather dialog
box. To access the Timeline option, display the underlined Scale or Mask Feather value for
the layer you want to modify and note the box to the left of the values. The box displays a
link icon
by default, which means that the option is on. To turn it off, click the box to
remove the icon.
