To change an interpolation method directly in a window:
1 Display the Value graph in the Timeline window or the motion path in the Composition
or Layer window.
2 Using the selection tool, press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac OS) as you click the
keyframe marker you want to change. The interpolation method that the keyframe
changes to depends on the current interpolation:
If the keyframe uses Linear interpolation, it changes to Auto Bezier.
If the keyframe uses Bezier, Continuous Bezier, or Auto Bezier, it changes to Linear.
Note: You can change interpolation methods directly for temporal keyframes in the
Timeline window and for spatial keyframes in the Composition and Layer windows.
A Linear keyframe (left) changes to Auto Bezier (right).
Applying Bezier interpolation graphically
One way to apply Bezier interpolation is to use the Keyframe Interpolation dialog box. See
"Changing the interpolation method" on page 126. However, when you are using the
mouse intensively on a Value graph or motion path, you may prefer to apply Bezier inter-
polation graphically.
To enable Bezier direction handles graphically:
1 Using the selection tool, do one of the following:
If the current keyframe interpolation is Linear, press Ctrl (Windows) or Command
(Mac OS) as you click the keyframe to change it to Auto Bezier.
If the current interpolation is Auto Bezier, drag one of the direction handles. Direction
lines appear, visually connecting the direction handles to the keyframe and indicating
that you have changed the interpolation to Continuous Bezier.
An Auto Bezier keyframe (left) changes to a Continuous Bezier keyframe (right).
2 Press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac OS) as you drag one of the direction handles.
This changes the interpolation to Bezier. Each direction handle now moves independently.
