The source for each layer in the composition is rendered and added to the SWF file as a
JPEG-compressed bitmap, unless the layer is a solid or its source is an Adobe Illustrator file.
If the layer source is an Illustrator file, the source is automatically converted to the corre-
sponding native SWF elements. The Collapse Transformations option for nested composi-
tions is not supported—the composition used as source for a layer in the exported
composition will be rendered and added to the SWF file as a JPEG-compressed bitmap.
Including object names in a SWF file
If the Include Object Names option is selected in the SWF Settings dialog box, the layers,
masks, and effects in the SWF movie have the same names they have in After Effects. The
layer, mask, or effect name will be either the default name given by After Effects or the
name you specified. If individual objects were not exported for a given frame (because the
composition frame was rasterized), names cannot be written out for that frame.
Each mask is exported as a separate SWF object. The name of each object is the Layer
name followed by the Mask name, with no space separating the names. If all masks are
Difference mode, then one SWF object is exported, and the name is the Layer name.
Each Path Text character is exported as a separate SWF object. The name of each object
will be the Layer name followed by the Effect name followed by the character index
(starting at 0). No space separates the names or the character index.
Including Web links in a SWF file
If the Include Layer Marker Web Links option is selected in the SWF Settings dialog box, a
frame label is added to each SWF frame that has a layer marker, and a GetURL action is
added to each SWF frame in which a layer marker has a specified URL. For more infor-
mation on creating Web links from markers, see "Creating Web links from markers" on
page 85.
The Macromedia Flash format honors the following standard frame targets:
_blank causes the document to be loaded into a new browser window.
_parent causes the document to be loaded into the parent frame of the frame in which
the current movie is playing.
_self causes the document to be loaded into the current frame. This is the default if no
target is specified.
_top causes the document to be loaded into the top frame in the current window.
_level0 causes another SWF movie to be loaded into level 0. The current movie typically
plays at level 0; another movie loaded into level 0 usually replaces the current movie.
Note that the URL must refer to another SWF movie.
_level1 causes another SWF movie to be loaded into level 1. Note that the URL must
refer to another SWF movie.
Saving a RAM preview as a rendered movie
Use RAM preview to preview frames, including audio, at the frame rate of your compo-
sition or as quickly as your system allows. To simplify the rendering process, save RAM
preview frames as a movie. When saving a RAM preview, keep in mind the following:
After Effects uses the composition frame size and resolution setting to determine the
final dimension in pixels of a saved RAM preview. It does not consider the zoom level.
