Tip #2. Installing NetWare 6.5 on a 4 GB hard disk drive
Issue: If you have a 4GB capacity hard disk drive, during NetWare installation you may
see a pop-up window display insufficient active DOS partition... even
though an active DOS partition already exists.
Cause: This problem is caused by a defect in NWNSTLL.EXE file for the NetWare
installation utility.
Solution: There are 2 solutions to resolve this issue:
1. At the pop-up window just press the Enter key, the installation will continue to the
end. This error will NOT create any problem to the operating system.
2. Obtain the 4GBFIX.EXE files from Novell web site at:
http://support.novell.com
and follow the instructions in the .TXT file (included with the self-extracting file) to
install NetWare.
