POSSIBLE SOLUTION

Make sure the modem is turned on. The power switch is on
top of external modems. The CS light on the front panel
should be lit. If you installed an internal modem, it should
power up when the computer is turned on.

Check to make sure you have the correct COM port and IRQ
settings in your software and/or in the Windows Control
Panel.

Type in all upper (AT) or lower (at) case.

Refer to the Internal Modem Installation section or the
diagram on the following page.

Refer to your computer's manual for information concerning
enabling COM ports (usually involves altering the bios
settings or motherboard jumpers).
