Connecting to the Media Vault from a Macintosh
On your computer, you browse your file system to find, open, and save files to
your hard drive. You can also use your computer to browse to the shared
folders on your HP Media Vault. After browsing to your server's shared
folders, you can save folders and files to them.
You can use several methods to browse to and access your server's shared
folders.
Organizing Folders
The HP Media Vault comes pre-configured with five top-level shared folders:
Backup, Documents, Music, Photos, and Videos. These folders are pre-named
to help you get started saving and organizing your files.
Additionally, the top-level shared folders are designed for specific purposes.
For instance, the backup application that comes with the Media Vault places
backup files in the backup folder. Streaming media features rely on music
being in the music folder, photos being in the photos folder, and videos being
in the videos folder.
Consider creating sub-folders within the top-level folders to organize your
content and reduce the time it takes to find information on your Media Vault.
