access to the Media Vault's configuration screens. Furthermore, if remote
access is enabled, anyone with your personal web address can open the
configuration pages for your HP Media Vault.
To secure the configuration options on your Media Vault, assign a Media
Vault administrator user name and password. Once they are set, they are
required to log on to the Media Vault configuration pages.
LED Brightness
Determines the brightness of the lights on your Media Vault. LED
brightness can be On, Dim, or Off.
Turn Off Hard Disks After
The HP Media Vault comes with a power-saving feature. After one-hour of
inactivity, the Media Vault's internal hard disks spin down. When activity
on your network again accesses the Media Vault's hard drive, the hard
disks automatically spin up.
Power-saving mode lowers power consumption, and your Media Vault's
internal hard drives experience less wear and tear.
Date and Time
The Media Vault's current date and time.
Firmware Version
Hewlett-Packard occasionally offers upgrades to the HP Media Vault
firmware. The firmware version number identifies the installed firmware
release.
New Firmware Available
Indicates if there is new firmware available.
Reset Media Server
Stops the UPnP media server and the iTunes server, deletes their internal
databases, then re-starts them.
Shutdown
Turns the Media Vault off.
Restart
Turns the Media Vault off and back on.
