  • Page 5 POS terminal with Gen 7E/8E foldable bases. XT-5415 with Gen 7E base will be used in the following demonstration. As a reminder, do NOT power ON the terminal during the installation of PD-2608R. Lay your terminal on a flat surface with the screen facing down.
  • Page 6 Take the customer display out of the PD-2608R package box. Hold the display with the screen facing towards you. Tuck the extra cable into cable passage from the top cable exit. Please also reserve the enough cable for mounting the customer display.
  • Page 7 Slide it into position along the rail as the below figures show. Tighten the screws by keeping turning them clockwise. Insert the RS-232 cable to DB9 COM port at the bottom I/O plate of your KS series terminal. Make sure that PD-2608R is well mounted onto the POS terminal.
  • Page 8 Setting up the Baud Rate for PD-2608R To specify the certain baud rate in your POS terminal, it is required to configure the DIP switch settings. Please follow the below instructions to complete the configuration of DIP switch. Slide the cover of the DIP switch on the rear of PD-2608R.
  • Page 9 DIP Switch of PD-2608R, which is comprised of six electrical switches located at the rear of the customer display, allows you to save your preferences for baud rate and emulation commands. The below two figures will give you an idea how you could configure PD-2608R using DIP switch. RS-232 Format DIP switch #1 and #2 are mainly responsible for determining the bard rate at which data is transmitted via RS-232 protocol.
