Installing a Hard Drive

CAUTION:
Only trained service technicians are authorized to remove the system cover and access any of the
components inside the system. See your Product Information Guide for complete information about safety
precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting against electrostatic discharge.
1 Unpack the drive (and controller card, if applicable) and prepare the drive for installation.
NOTE:
For instructions, see the documentation that accompanied the drive.
2 Install the hard drive into the hard-drive bay (see Figure 3-11):
Slide the hard drive into the hard-drive bay with the back of the drive toward the back of the drive

bay.
Install the four screws that secure the hard drive in the hard-drive bay.
