Device Cabling
All storage devices require a power and signal cable connection. Devices shipped with the system are already
connected. Cable optional devices as follows.
Cabling an IDE Device
Connect the IDE signal cable connector to the connector on the IDE device.
Take care to prevent bending drive connector pins. Align the IDE cable connector as shown in Figure 3-20.
Locate an available power connector coming from the power supply.
Connect the appropriate power cable to the power connector on the IDE device.

If installing an IDE CD-ROM reader, also connect the audio cable (see the instructions that come with the
reader).
Cabling a Diskette Drive
Connect the diskette drive signal cable connector to the signal connector on the diskette drive (see Figure 3-
21).
Locate an available power connector.
Connect the power cable to the power connector on the device.
