Closing the backplane cover
1. Check that the seal is properly seated on the backplane cover.
Note
IP65 degree of protection at risk
If the seal on the backplane cover is damaged, the IP65 degree of protection is at risk. The
device must be repaired. Proceed as described in the section Repair information (Page 77).
2. Place the backplane cover on the enclosure. Make sure that no cables are crimped.
Secure the backplane cover from falling down.
3. Plug in the green connection terminal again.
4. Close the terminal compartment cover.
Note
Do not exceed the permissible torque
If you tighten up the screws with a torque > 1.5 Nm, you could may the threading in the
enclosure.
5. Tighten the M4x16 screws of the backplane cover in crosswise order using a maximum
torque of 1.5 Nm. Check all screws again to ensure that the maximum torque of 1.5 Nm has
not been exceeded.

Installing and removing a memory module

The procedures for installing and removing the memory module are the same for all device
variants.
The motherboard is equipped with one slot for an SO-DIMM DDR4 memory module. You can
use it to expand the memory capacity of the device to a maximum of 16 GB.
Note
Use only the memory modules recommended by Siemens Aktiengesellschaft. You can find
additional information in the section "Accessories (Page 15)".
Requirements
• The device is disconnected from the power supply.
• The device is open.
