"Image Sticking" and backlighting
Despite the use of modern LCD technologies, the "Image Sticking" effect can occur if the
LCD display is used unfavorably. Image Sticking, also known as "Image Retention" or "ghost
image", is a phenomenon in which a faint outline of the previous screen content remains
visible after the content has changed.
The long-term display of static screen content at high brightness can lead to "Image
Sticking". High ambient temperatures can accelerate this effect.
Observe the following information to maximize the technical service life of the LCD display
and ensure an optimal viewing experience:

SIMATIC screen saver "Anti Image Sticking"
The SIMATIC screen saver "Anti Image Sticking" is a standalone software component that is
installed automatically with the new configuration tool SIMATIC IPC Panel Drivers and Tools
(PDT) V1.7, or higher. SIMATIC IPC Panel Drivers and Tools (PDT) V1.7, or higher, differs from
the previous version only with respect to the SIMATIC screen saver, which you configure
using the IPC Configuration Center.
NOTICE
Intended use
PDT V1.7, or higher, can only be used for devices intended for it. You can find information
on valid devices and the corresponding software versions in the associated documentation
at (https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/de/view/109964184/en).
Defective pixels in the display
At present, the manufacturing process of modern displays does not guarantee that all pixels
of the display will be perfect. A small number of defective pixels in the display is therefore
unavoidable. This does not present a functional problem as long as the defective pixels are
not bunched in one location.
Additional information is available in the section "General technical specifications
(Page 107)".
