8.2 PRE-POWER UP CHECKS FOR INITIAL STARTUP

Use appropriate lockout/tagout procedures (refer to SEN-HSE-S027) to ensure that VSD power is OFF
before proceeding with the following checks and procedures.
Use a Volt Ohm Meter (VOM) to verify that ALL power is OFF on the VSD, including
• incoming line at the bottom of the circuit breaker
• motor terminals

8.2.1 INSTALLATION CHECKLIST

Complete the following installation checks before you start up the drive.

1 The ambient operating conditions meet the specifications.
The drive cabinet has been fixed to floor. If necessary because of vibration or

other causes, check that the cabinet is also fixed at the top to the wall or roof.
3 The cooling air will flow freely in and out of the drive cabinet.
If the drive has been stored over one year, verify that the electrolytic DC
4 capacitors in the DC link of the drive have been reformed. Refer to

There is an adequately sized protective earth (ground) conductor between the
drive and the switchboard, and the conductor has been connected to an

appropriate terminal, and the terminal has been tightened. (Pull the conductor to
check.) Proper grounding has also been measured according to the regulations.
The input power cable has been connected to the appropriate terminals, the
6 phase order is right, and the terminals have been tightened. (Pull the conductors
to check.)
