5.5.1 MOTOR CONTROLLER WIRING

Refer to the respective controller manuals for detailed wiring and connection information:
INSTRUCT PCP Intelligent Controller Hardware Installation Manual (LCS-ENG-M0017)
INSTRUCT PCP Intelligent Controller Configuration Manual (LCS-ENG-M0018)
INSTRUCT SRP Intelligent Controller User Manual (LCS-ENG-M0019)

5.5.2 VSD WIRING

For the purpose of discussion in this manual, VSD wiring is confined to interconnection or communication
wiring to or from the drive, or to the motor controller or other external devices in the Sensia VSD systems.
Wiring internal to the drives is not within the scope of this manual.
INSTRUCT PCP
The controller connects to the drive via Modbus TCP Protocol. To enable this
Controller
communication, the 20-COMM-M card shall be inserted into port 6 of the option
module slots in the drive control pod. Connect the Ethernet port of 20-COMM-M card
to the Ethernet port of the controller's Ethernet Switch using an Ethernet cable.
Refer to Figure 5-1 for the typical connections or manufacturer drawings for the
detailed wirings.
INSTRUCT SRP
The controller connects to the drive via Ethernet/IP Protocol. To enable this
Controller
communication, the 20-750-ENETR card shall be inserted into port 6 of the option
module slots in drive control pod. Connect the Ethernet port of 20-750-ENETR card to
the LAN port of the controller RTU using an Ethernet cable.
Refer to Figure 5-2Error! Reference source not found. for the typical connections or
manufacturer drawings for the detailed wirings.

5.6 EXTERNAL SENSOR CONNECTIONS TO PCP CONTROLLER

The INSTRUCT PCP Controller in the P30 drive can be interfaced to external surface and downhole
sensors.

5.6.1 CONNECTING THE SENSORS

The sensors are connected to a 24 VDC power supply that is provided internally by the system.
Different connection types are available for different sensors. The analog signals are 4...20 mA inputs. The
Modbus sensors use two-wire RS485 communication on the COM1 port of the controller RTU. Refer to the
table below for a list of available sensors and connection types.
