Using StorTrends as an FTP Server

Step
Action
1
Check whether you have space to create a 5GB NAS volume. If you already have a NAS
volume, you can use that instead. If you do not have enough space or do not have a pre-
existing NAS volume, you need to use an external FTP server.
If you can access the AMI FTP server, then you can skip this procedure.
2
If you do not have a NAS volume, create an exact provisioned NAS volume of 5GB from
ManageTrends or CLI (the Command Line Interface).
3
Create a Share on that volume (for example, ftpshare). Enable FTP access on that
Share. Also verify that the StorTrends storage appliance has been configured for FTP
access.
(Control Panel->Network Settings->File Protocols->HTTP/ FTP)
4
Copy the upgrade file into this Share.
Note:

Path Information Configuration

The path should be where you copied the extracted/copied upgrade files in the FTP site.
If you have extracted/copied to:
ftp://xx.yy.zz.aa/ftpshare
then the path should be specified as:
/ftpshare/upgrade

Errors during Upgrade

If you get an error "Incorrect path", then the StorTrends operating system could not find
the upgrade files in the path provided. Verify that the path is correct. Refer to the
previous section Path Information Configuration.
The upgrade file may be compressed. If it is compressed, you must uncompress
it first.
