Upgrade Procedure using the Command Line Interface
Some upgrade paths do not support the use of the FTP Upgrade Procedure. If you have
received a StorTrends CD (with a newer build than the one that is currently installed),
you must follow the instructions that are included in the CD. If no instructions are
provided with the CD, follow the instructions outlined in this section.
The following instructions are provided as an example to such an installation procedure.
It also requires that you be in front of the actual StorTrends storage appliance that you are
attempting to upgrade.
Attach a Keyboard, Monitor and External USB CD-ROM Drive
Attach a keyboard, monitor and external USB CD-ROM drive to your StorTrends 2200
(See the StorTrends 2200 Set Up Guide folded sheet for more information). Power on
your StorTrends 2200 and insert the StorTrends iTX Installation CD into the external
USB CD-ROM drive.
Fully Boot into ManageTrends
This step is critical. Do NOT insert the CD until you are fully booted into the StorTrends
software. Doing so may cause you to accidentally re-install instead of upgrade.
Power on your StorTrends storage appliance. Make sure that your StorTrends storage
appliance is fully booted into the StorTrends Software before inserting the latest
StorTrends iTX Installation CD.
