February 2003
Multiple releases of JetVision Client can co-exist on the same
computer. To communicate between JetVision Server and
JetVision Client, both the server and client must share the same
release number. For example, if you upgrade JetVision Server to
2.5, you need to install JetVision Client. Only JetVision Client 2.5
can login to JetVision Server 2.5.
The JetVision Client does not need upgrading; however, you need
to install the current release of JetVision Client. For installation
procedure, refer to
Installing JetVision Client
Notes
JetVision uses JRE 1.3.1 for installation. Make sure that
all Java applications have stopped running before
upgrading.
Perform a pre-installation check
page 3-2) before upgrading to ensure that your
workstation meets the installation requirement.
Log on with administrator privileges to the computer where you
want to install JetVision Server, and open a console window.
Insert the JetVision Server Solaris installation CD-ROM into the
CD-ROM drive. Use the appropriate UNIX shell command to start
the installation. For example:
cd/cdrom/cdrom0
./setup.sh
Note
Do not open any directories and files from File Manager.
Doing so may cause unpredictable behavior. If File
Manager is open, close it before running the installation
program.
