The FieldSpec spectroradiometer communicates using a 10/100 Base T
Ethernet card. The FieldSpec spectroradiometer works fine with the Ethernet
connection provided on many laptop computers.
The 802.11b wireless Ethernet cards within the FieldSpec spectroradiometer
and instrument controller can allow communication distances of 30-40 m
(100-150 ft). ASD tests the wireless communication up to 30 m (100 ft).
However, obstructions or radio frequency interference in close proximity can
cause loss of communication or significantly shorten the communication
range.
For information about configuration of the Ethernet card and cable, please
refer to the Installation Manual.
