7.2 – R5: Removing the LF/MF drive units
TOOLS REQUIRED: 3mm & 4mm Allen keys

Complete step 7.1 above to remove the grille.

Using a 4mm Allen key, remove the two M6x16 button head socket screws that secure the HF
waveguide. Remove the waveguide from the enclosure and ensure that you collect the machine
screws.

Using a 4mm Allen key, undo the four M5x20 socket cap bolts that secure the occlusion bowl to the
enclosure, ensuring to collect the washers as well. With these bolts removed, the occlusion bowl can
be removed which will expose all the securing bolts for both 5" drive units.

Using a 3mm Allen key, undo the four M4x10 socket cap bolts that secure the drive unit you want to
remove. Ensure you remove the spring & flat washers as well as each bolt, then lift the drive unit
clear of the enclosure and disconnect the cables. Note the polarity for future reconnection:
Top (MF) driver - red cable to the positive (red) driver terminal, blue cable to the negative (black) terminal.
Bottom (MF) driver - brown cable to the positive (red) driver terminal, blue cable to the negative (black) terminal.
