5.7 Protecting the Server by Using the NetShutdown

5.7.1 Software Description

The NetShutdown is part of the NetEco centralized monitoring system. By
obtaining UPS event data, the NetShutdown handles events according to the
predefined event handling solution, and provides the functions of executing
command files and shutting down the computer or server. When the UPS faces
risks of power supply exceptions, the NetShutdown implements the specified
protection measures to protect the computer or server hardware and software
assets.

5.7.2 Adding the NetShutdown Software to the SNMP Card

To manage the UPS by using an SNMP card, apply to the system administrator of
the SNMP card for management rights and add the IP address information of the
PC corresponding to the NetShutdown software to the SNMP card access list.

5.7.3 Obtaining the UPS Status

When the NetShutdown software installed on the computer or server is started,
the NetShutdown can obtain the UPS status to implement shutdown protection
for the computer or server. A UPS system supports a maximum of 16
NetShutdown software to manage UPSs. For details about how the NetShutdown
software manages the UPS, see the NetShutdown V100R002C00 product
documentation.
