Solar Panel Installation
Position the solar panel - The orientation of the solar array is important for
proper system performance. In the northern hemisphere the solar array should
be pointing true south and in the southern hemisphere the solar array should
be pointing true north. Use a GPS or compass to verify azimuth. To find the
proper tilt angle for the solar array, use the following formula:
Tilt Angle = [(Latitude)*(0.9)] + 23°
The tilt angle is the angle between the ground and the panel as shown in the
diagram below.
