Use the following procedure if adial-tone is not detected when the
ERG directs the STU-III/R to go off-hook.
Ensure that the RCI is operable (see above procedure), and
that the ERG has configured the STU-III/R for TELGO
operation.
Be sure that the ERG has configured the STU-III/R for 2-
wire operation if operating on a2-wire network, or for a4-
wire operation if operating on a4-wire network.
Gheck the TELGO cord connections. Refer to Ghapter 2for
connector pinout and signal definitions.
Swap out the TELGO cord with aknown good one to
d e t e r m i n e i f i t i s d e f e c t i v e .
If the above steps do not correct the problem, or if the
TELGO cord is defective, contact Motorola Gustomer Service.

c l e a r ( n o n s e c u r e ) m o d e .
Follow the steps under NO DIAL TONE above.
Be sure that the ERG has not given the STU-III/R aMUTE
c o m m a n d .
Be sure that the ERG has not configured the STU-III/R for
SEGURE ONLY operation.
Gheck the handset connection to the RGI. See Ghapter 3for
connector pinout and signal definitions.
