I n s t a l l a t i o n
This chapter describes the unpacking, checking of the contents,
location requirements, mounting, system connections, power up, and
i n i t i a l c h e c k o u t o f t h e S T U - I I I / R .
U N P A C K I N G
The materials used to pack the STU-III/R were specifically designed
and selected to withstand shipping stress. Please be sure to save all
packing materials so that the terminal may be repacked. This may
prevent damage during subsequent moves or shipping.
C H E C K I N G O F T H E C O N T E N T S
Use the following procedure to unpack the STU-III/R.
Open shipping container.
1 .
Remove terminal and all components.
2 .
Compare contents of shipping container with Figure 4-1, and
t h e i t e m s l i s t e d .
3 .
Inspect all components for shipping damage.
4 .
If items are missing or damaged, contact the Motorola
customer representative (see Chapter 10).
