Use the following procedure if the POWER indicator does not light
when the power switch is activated.
Be sure that power is available at the AC receptacle. This
can be done by plugging aknown good device into the outlet.
1.
Check the AC supply cord, power supply, and power supply
c a b l e c o n n e c t i o n s .

Check the power supply fuse and replace if defective (see
Chapter 7).
3 .
Swap out the AC supply cord, power supply, and power
supply cable independently with known good equipment to
determine if any are defective.
If the above steps do not correct the problem or if defective
equipment is discovered, contact Motorola Customer Service.

Use the following procedure if the STU-III/R does not respond to
commands issued on the RCI by the ERC.
B e s u r e t h e P O W E R i n d i c a t o r i s i l l u m i n a t e d .
Check the connections at both ends of the RCI cable.
Be sure that the RCI cable is configured to connect aDTE to
aDCE. Refer to Chapter 3for connector pinout and signal
d e fi n i t i o n s .
