Changing parameters causes the internal processor to set the new parameter
value on its next task cycle. The new value is held in volatile system RAM and
will be lost if the internal processor is switched off.
A command is provided to commit changes of configuration parameters to
system non volatile memory. This separate 'save' command provides the
following:
1)
Adjustment of the processor settings while the system is operating until an
optimised configuration is achieved.
2)
An infinite number of processor reconfigurations for a dynamic application
(e.g. changing emissivity or alarm trip levels, etc) without wasting the
finite (10,000) erase cycles of the onboard EEPROM non volatile memory.
