Fixed Spot Thermometer
There are four methods of activating the laser alignment utility in the IQ Series
thermometer:
•
the laser switch on the rear face of the thermometer (See Fig. 4-1);
•
a direct connection between pin Com and LSRin on the electrical connector
on the rear face of the thermometer. This connection can be made via a
user-supplied external switch;
•
The laser 'button' in the configurator software. Refer to Section 5.2;
•
By sending an appropriate message to the thermometer over an RS485
digital communications link.
When the laser is activated, it will remain switched on for 2 minutes (120
seconds).
Warning
CLASS 2 Laser Product.
If the lens is removed for re-focusing the thermometer, the laser
energy emitted is increased. Therefore, ensure that the laser is
switched off before re-focusing the thermometer
