Cause
Leakage in the inlet pipe
or air in the water.
A tap has not been
closed entirely after use.

6.6 The pump does not stop

Cause
The pump cannot
deliver the necessary
discharge pressure.
The existing pipes are
leaking or defective.
The non-return valve is
blocked or missing.
Remedy
Restore the water
supply or repair the
inlet pipe.
Check that all taps
have been closed.
Check the system for
leakages.
Remedy
Replace the pump.
Repair the pipes.
Clean the valve or fit a
non-return valve.

6.7 Insufficient pump performance

Cause
The pump inlet pressure
is too low.
The pump is
undersized.
Inlet pipe, inlet strainer
or pump are partially

conditions.
Replace the pump with
a larger pump.
Clean the inlet pipe or
the pump.
Repair the inlet pipe.
Prime the inlet pipe
and the pump. Check
the pump inlet
conditions.
