07 CHARGING
7.2 Charging Instructions
Charging the Battery
- When charging is in progress the LED on the charger will flash red. When
charging is complete, the LED on the charger will change from flashing red to
a green light. After the charge is complete remove the charging plug from the
charging socket and unplug from the mains outlet.
- Make sure to close the eBike charge port cover after charging. If foreign
matter such as dirt or dust adheres to the charging socket, there is a risk that
the charging plug will not fit into the charging port.
- If the battery is out of charge, ensure to charge it as soon as possible. Over
charging the battery may cause the battery to deteriorate and become
unusable. Storing the battery with low charge levels may also cause the battery
to deteriorate.
WARNING - Where possible, you should charge the battery in an
area with a smoke detector or make sure someone is taking care of
the battery during the charging process.
WARNING - Do not place the battery and charger at locations that
are easily accessible to children.
Indicator on Charger
- During the charging process, the indicator on the charger will glow/flash red.
- When the battery is fully charged, the indicator on the charger will turn green.
Charge the Battery Before and After Storage
It is always best practice to charge your bike after each ride. Charging before
storing your bike will help improve the life span of the battery. If your Whyte
eBike is going to be stored for an extended period it is recommended that the
battery is charged to 30-60% battery capacity. This will need to be repeated
every six months for optimum storage.
INFO - On the product warning label of the battery and charger,
you can find simple descriptions of safety warnings (Please see
illustration above for reference).
