Alarm Condition

When the infusion pump detects a problem, the following occurs:
The infusion stops
An audible alarm is activated
A message appears on the display screen indicating the cause of the alarm
The LED indicator will change from green to red
NOTE: pressing
NOTE: Operator's position to verify functionality of alarm system is one meter
away from the pump.
NOTE: Alarm settings are not lost in case of power loss. When power is lost for
less than or equal to 30 seconds, the alarm settings are restored.
NOTE: At Power-On the pump performs a sequence of audible beeps informing
the user the pump is ready for use. The beep sequence confirms self- tests have
verified the system integrity. Continually, through pump operation the pump will
perform a sequence of continuous tests to verify system integrity. These self-
tests check the system integrity against single fault failures that may have
occurred and will produce a System Error alarm if fault is detected.
Warning: Do not set alarm limits to extreme values. This may render the alarm
system ineffective.
Warning: A potential hazard may exist if different alarm pre-sets are used for
the same or similar equipment in any single area.
Warning: The operator should check to ensure that current alarm pre-sets
are appropriate prior to use on each patient.
