Motor Drive Speed Checks and Adjustments
Instrumentation:
e | Connect DVM
(200 VDC scale) to 8A1-5 (+)
and 8A1-6(-)
e
Block 16" (0.4 m) wheels just off floor with
wooded blocks
e
Place piece of tape on edge of wheel to count
RPM
1.
Turn main circuit breaker ON and operate drive
system.
2.
Check wheel RPM and drive motor voltage for
conditions listed at the right.
Adjust 8A1R 15,
if required.
3.
If voltage and RPM values do not agree with table,
remove the voltmeter and take the unit off the
wooden
block.
a.
Connect a pull scale to a rigid member of
the AMX.
Set 6S2, the Forward Reverse
switch, to OFF.
b.
With the brake handle depressed, measure
the force required to move the unit in a
straight line on a smooth, level, hard sur-
faced floor such as tile.
c.
The force needed to move the unit should
not exceed 25 Ibs. (11.34 kg), excluding
starting force, in either the forward
or
reverse directions.
if the moving force is
greater than 25 Ibs, (11.34 kg) the drive
train should be examined for a malfunction.
