6.4) Welding circuit
The good performance of the LTG 410 depends on the usage of a copper "Work" cable, isolated, and
with the smallest length possible and compatible with the considered application(s), and in good trim,
tightly fixed in its terminals, and still, the connections in the piece to be weld, or in the working station
and in the "negative" terminal of the set should all be correctly fixed.
Regardless of its total length (which should be the smallest possible) and regardless of the welding
current used, the part of the "Work" cable should correspond to the maximun current that the LTG 410
uses to supply in the duty cycle of 60%.
The electric resistor of the welding circuit causes slopes in the voltage which added to the natural
internal slopes of the rectifier itself, decreases the arc voltage and the maximun current available
making the arc unstable.

7) OPERATION

7.1)Welding with coated electrode
1) Install the electrode holder and the work clamp a according to the polarity required for the process.
2) Position the selecting switch to welding process with ELECTRODE.
3) Position the selecting switch to REMOTE/LOCAL to local if the current adjustment is to be done through
the potentiometer of the panel in the LTG 410 or in remote A, B or A+B, according to the remote control to be
used and install the controls.
4) Position the switch HOTSTAR to position 1, in case an increase of the current is desired during a short
period of time in the opening of the electric arc.
5) Position the switch to ON/OFF to 1.
6) Adjust the current through the potentiometer of the panel or in the remote control.
7) Start the welding and readjust the current if needed.
7.2) TIG Welding
1) Install the cooling unit WC8 when using the refrigerated torch, turn on the power in the socket in the
rear panel.
2) Install the TIG torch (current cable, trigger, gas feeding in the LTG 410 in the water inlet and outlet of
the WC8, in case it is refrigerated) and the work cable.
3) connect the shielding gas hose in the nipple in the rear panel.
4) Position the selecting switch to the TIG welding process.
5) Position the selecting switch to REMOTE/LOCAL to local if the current adjustment is to be done
through the potentiometer of the panel in the LTG 410 or in remote A, B or A+B, according to the
remote control to be used and install the controls.
6) Position the selecting switch of the arc opening to LIFTARC or HF.
7) Position the switch mode of the trigger to 2T or 4T.
8) Position the HOTSTART switch to 0.
9) Adjust the slope up and slope down of the potentiometer.
10) Adjust the postflow potentiometer.
11)Position the switch to ON/OFF to 1.
12) Adjust the current through the potentiometer of the panel or remote control.
13) Turn on the cooling unit in case the refrigerated torch is being used.
14) Start the welding and readjust the current and any other switches if needed.
