Tap Key Ranges to set the MIDI key ranges for each track. This can allow you to play multiple instruments from one
keyboard.
To add a new track, tap New Track, and then select the type of track to add.
To instantly adjust the key range for drum tracks, tap Drum Split. This will automatically set the key range to
the first 16 notes of the keyboard to correspond with Pads 1–16. This is useful for using the MPC Key 61 to play
melodic sounds on the keybed and drum sounds on the pads at the same time.
To adjust the key range, tap and drag from the ends of the blue bar for each track. Alternatively, tap Learn Min
or Learn Max and then press a key on a connected keyboard to set that note as the min or max.
To mute the current track, tap Mute.
To solo the current track, tap Solo.
To view the channel strip for the current track, tap the eye icon on the left side of the touchscreen. See
Operation > Modes > Main Mode
Tap Edit Instrument at the bottom of the touchscreen to open Program Edit Mode to adjust the instrument parameters.
To save a preset as a favorite:
1. Select the desired plugin and preset using the Sounds menu.
2. Open the Favorites menu by tapping the bottom-left tab in the Sounds menu, or by tapping Favorites in the
Plugin Program section of Main mode.
3. Press and hold on an empty Favorites slot to save the preset in the selected slot.
To edit an existing Favorite slot, tap and hold on a filled Favorite slot. In the menu that appears:
• Tap Clear to clear the slot.
• Tap Overwrite to replace the favorite with the currently selected preset.
Performances
The Performances tab is available for MPC Key 61 users with an MPC Keys Performance expansion installed. Tap
one of the slots to load a sample Performance project, which show off the layering and key split capabilities of MPC
Key 61. Each performance project loads with a drum kit and multiple instruments mapped across the key range for
fast experimentation.
