If your system is configured with UNICORN, the control system is pre-installed and
configured on the built-in computer. No specific actions are required with respect to
the control system.
If your system is configured with other control software, the information about the
configuration is provided separately.
An external socket for Ethernet connection to a network (optional) is available on the
left-hand side of the system unit, marked Ethernet.
NOTICE
Use the supplied network cable to protect from liquids. Do not re-
place this cable with an unprotected cable.
ÄKTA ready XL may be connected to an OPC (OLE for Process Control) client to ena-
ble the use of a uniform interface between the pre-configured software and other
software systems (e.g., UNICORN, DeltaV, LIMS - laboratory information systems,
etc.). For UNICORN, the OPC server is included in the regular installation and the
software may be set up either for full OPC client access to all UNICORN data items or
limited access. For more OPC information, see the UNICORN Administration and
Technical Manual and the UNICORN OPC manual.
For DeltaV, refer to the software documentation package provided with the product
delivery for information.
A customer I/O connection is located on the communications panel on the side of the
electrical cabinet. There are many different applications for customer I/O connec-
tions.
Contact your local GE Healthcare representative for more detailed technical infor-
mation.
