15. COMMUNICATION OPTIONS

USB PORT:
For communicating with a PC using the XMART Viewpower software. Software is available on CD and on our website: www.xmart-ups.com.
RS-232 PORT:
Serial communication port that allows communicating with a PC using the XMART Viewpower software. Software is available on CD and on our
website: www.xmart-ups.com.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Serial communication cable to be used with RS-232 port must be wired 1 to 1, between pins 2, 3, and 5 on both ends.
SMART PORT:
Smart port can accommodate the following communication cards:
SNMP – ETHERNET NETWORK CARD:
Optional card (not included with UPS) to allow communication between the UPS and Ethernet LAN networks. It operates when inserted into the
smart port located on the UPS. Once the UPS is connected to the network, it can communicate with PCs on that network using the XMART
communication software or through a web browser, using the IP address assigned to the card. For more details, please refer to the Viewpower
PRO software manual and the SNMP network card manual.
AS400 CARD:
Optional card (not included with UPS) with dry contacts to be installed in UPS smart port. This card has 6 outputs and one dry contact input.
For more details, it is recommended to refer to AS-400 card user manual.
RS485 CARD:
Optional card (not included with UPS). It operates when inserted in UPS smart port. This card provides communication using the MODBUS
protocol. It is advisable to refer to the RS485-MODBUS card manual for further details.
