C-Band Solid-State Power Amplifier
Remote Control Commands
Addressess - the Device Address addresses All CPAs in a command. The Device Address
consists of a physical address or a physical address plus a virtual address.
6.6.3
Physical Address
Each CPA in the system must have a unique physical address regardless of the access
method used. The physical address consists of a string of 1, 2 or 3 numbers from 1 to
256. The physical address is entered into a CPA via the front panel. For Direct Access,
the physical address is the only address required to command a CPA. A backup CPA or a
stand-alone CPA can only be accessed with a physical address.
For Example:
6.6.4
Virtual Address
In order to access a CPA controlled by a backup CPA indirectly, a virtual address is
required. A virtual address is appended to the physical address of the backup CPA with a
"V". The virtual address is either the number "1" or "2" corresponding to the CPA's
designation in a redundant subsystem.
For Example:
6.6.5
Message Structure
The structure of a Command, Response, or Error Message is as follows:
6.6.6
Start Character
The Start Character begins each message:
10
10V2
•
Start Character
•
Device Address
•
Command or Response
•
End of Message String
For Example:
<
>
Addresses CPA whose physical address is 10.
Addresses second CPA in a 1:2
redundant subsystem controlled by
the backup CPA who's physical address is 10.
