Smart Heaters
Smart Heaters are programmed with a Hayward Unique Address (HUA) which allows it to be fully controlled by a Hayward Omni pool automation control. Similar
to other Smart Devices such as select Hayward variable speed pumps, you will be able to remotely create schedules and setpoints for both heating and cooling
while displaying real time heater status and diagnostics for the Smart Heater. The Omni family of products provide a 3 wire cable connection used to commu-
nicate with the Smart Heater and requires firmware revision R4.3.0 or later.
Disconnect power to both the Smart Heater and the Omni control before removing their panels. Use a proper outdoor rated 3 conductor 22 AWG cable (20 AWG
for runs over 30 ft) for the connection from the Omni control to the Smart Heater. Route the cable through appropriate knockouts making sure they are not shared
with high voltage wiring. Refer to the diagram below showing a Hayward OmniLogic control wired to the Smart Heater. Note that the position of each colored
conductor is the same at both ends of the communication cable. Refer to your Smart Heater manual for specific wiring instructions. After the communication
cable is fastened and secure, refasten the panels.
