2. Place your document or photo face-down on the document table. Make sure the upper left corner of the document or photo is against the corner of the scanner, next to the arrow mark. Note: If you are scanning multiple photos at once, position each photo at least 20 mm (0.8 inch) apart from the others.

Starting Epson Scan Using the Start Button You can start Epson Scan just by pressing the a Start button on the scanner. The Epson Scan window automatically opens. See “Selecting an Epson Scan Mode” on page 21 for instructions on selecting an Epson Scan mode.

Selecting the Scan Size You can scan your images at their original size, or you can reduce or enlarge their size as you scan them. You do this using the Target Size setting. If you are going to scan your image to a specific size, you should select the Target Size setting after previewing it, but before adjusting your scan area indicated by creating a marquee.

The scanner is equipped with built-in USB and SCSI interfaces. Chapter 9 Maintenance Cleaning the Scanner To keep your scanner operating at its best, clean it periodically using the following procedure. Replacing the Scanner Lamp The luminosity of the scanner lamp declines over time. If the lamp breaks or becomes too dim to operate normally, the scanner stops working and both the Ready and Error lights rapidly flash. When this happens, the lamp assembly must be replaced by a professional. For details, contact your dealer.
