For Windows only:
❏ Make sure the scanner's SCSI ID and terminator are set correctly. See "Setting Up the
SCSI Interface" on page 88 for details on making these settings. If you have other
expansion boards in your computer, make sure that their interrupt settings are not
interfering with your SCSI board. See your computer's documentation for details.
❏ Make sure the SCSI cable meets the requirements of your SCSI board. Refer to the
documentation that comes with the interface board.
❏ Make sure the SCSI interface board is installed correctly.
❏ Change the scanner's SCSI ID number to one that is not being used by any other SCSI
device.
❏ Check the SCSI connection sequence and make sure the terminator switch of the end
of device of daisy chain is set correctly.
❏ Make sure your scanner's name appears under Imaging devices without a (?) or an
exclamation (!) mark in the Device Manager window. If the scanner's name appears
with one of these marks or as an Unknown device, uninstall Epson Scan as described
in "Uninstalling Your Scanning Software" on page 127, then reinstall it as described in
the Start Here sheet.
Checking For Windows USB Support
1. Do one of the following.
Windows Vista: Click the start button icon and select Control Panel.
Windows XP: Click Start and select Control Panel.
Windows 2000: Click Start, point to Settings, and select Control Panel.
2. Click System and Maintenance and then System (Windows Vista) or double-click the
System icon (Windows XP and 2000).
3. Do one of the following.
Windows Vista: Click Device Manager, then click Continue in the User Account
Control window.
Windows XP and 2000: Click the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager.
